Special Shapes
Custom labels let you design the perfect label for your needs!
Die-Cut Labels: Round Corners
Virtually hundreds of shapes are available in our die library. If we don't have
the exact size needed we can create a special die for you.
Rolls, Sheets or Fanfolded?
How a label is finished often depends on the type of die. Most of our die-cut
labels are available in the following formats:
- On rolls
- Individually on sheets
- Multiple labels on a sheet
- Fanfolded with pinfeed holes and perforation between labels
- Fanfolded and perforated, without pinfeed holes
Rounded Corners
All die cut rectangles have rounded corners. Even though the corner radius is so
slight it appears to be almost square. Most of the die-cuts have a 1/8" corner
radius but if you need a special corner radius we can provide a new die with a
die line proof to meet your needs.
Full Bleed
The ink on die-cut labels can print off the edges of the label.
Butt-Cut Labels: Square Corners
Most labels are cut with a rounded corner die which has the exact same size as
the label. However, if the exact size die is not available, a preferred
alternative to purchasing a new die is a butt cut (also referred to as knife cut)
die. Butt cuts consist of single blades at certain lengths which can be used to
create labels of various widths. The main drawback of butt cut labels is their
square corners and harder application (there is no space between adjacent
labels).
Rolls or Sheets?
Butt-cut labels have no excess material around the edges of labels. Butt-cut
labels can be produced in three ways:
- On rolls
- On individual sheets with back score or top score
- Multiple labels per sheet
Ink on Butt Cut Roll Labels
When ordering butt-cut rolls, there must be a 1/16" ink free margin (no bleed)
all the way around the outer edge of the label. This margin cannot be printed, so
the colour of the label stock will show at the edges.
